University of Houston Cheerleaders
University of Houston cheerleaders will attend the following sporting events:
- All home football games
- Some away football games
- Men’s and Women’s basketball games
- Men’s and Women’s basketball tournaments
- Women’s volleyball games
While our main priority is to support our athletic program, we also participate in many community outreach events. The Spirit of Houston cheer team typically goes to 175+ appearances including games, pep rallies, and community events. At the end of your college career, every cheerleader will be able to walk away to from not only a degree that will guarantee them a job, but with pride, friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
2018-2019 Cheerleading Tryout Information
**All candidates must attend tryouts in order to be considered to be a part of the team. There will be no video entries unless there is an extenuating circumstance.**
Friday, May 11th 7-9 pm
Saturday, May 12th 8:00 AM - 3:00 pm
sunday, May 13th 8:00 am - Noon
LOCATION: Winston Band Complex
(attached to TDECU stadium on Cullen Blvd)
Team meeting to follow on Sunday after announcing the new team.
All candidates will need the following upon check in.
$50 non-refundable audition fee (check or money order), payable to the University of Houston
Signed audition wavier
Photocopy of Insurance Card

Red sports bra, red top (tank or tshirt) all black spanx or shorts, and a large white bow.
Hair needs to be half up in the back of the middle of your head (hair can be curly or straight).
All girls need to have game day make-up with red lips.
Nails need to be a short length and color should be clear, nude, white, or french manicure.
Males: Red t-shirt, black shorts, and shoes.
